Position:
Production Manager
We seek an
accomplished and seasoned Production Manager (PM) with excellent
operational and managerial skills to provide direction to our talented,
world class Production team within our Manufacturing & Logistics (M&L)
department. The PM will lead Manufacturing Line Engineers and directly
supervise two Production Group Leads (PGLs) who oversee approximately
fifty Assemblers and Integrators. Specifically, the PM will plan,
organise and direct production activities in an efficient, effective,
safe, environmentally sound and economical manner. The PM will be part
of the M&L management team and will partner with colleagues and team
members across the company to achieve objectives and targets. This role
reports directly to the Director, Operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, align
and direct efforts of production team, creating culture of teamwork
to realise goals and objectives

Oversee safe,
cost effective and efficient production of product

Lead PGLs to
ensure staffing levels meet production requirements through
developing highly skilled cross-trained employees
-
Create
environment of employee participation, empowerment and true
stakeholder mindset
-
Foster and
maintain a positive, safe work environment by ensuring all employees
treated with respect and fairness
-
Provide open
and effective communication with key stakeholders to ensure optimal
quality standards and trouble-free, on-time manufacturing
-
Partner with
HR to hire new employees to maintain and improve skills of
production workforce
-
Serve as
change agent to challenge existing processes and implement new
initiatives as appropriate
-
Promote
continuous improvement philosophy and lead continuous improvement
initiatives at all levels, in all process within scope of
responsibility
-
Maintain
production quality program and ensure that quality standards are
defined, understood and applied • Formulate and manage control of
budgeted processes including cost of labour, supply, equipment

Create metric
reports to monitor production capacity and review and analyse
efficiency, variance, quality reports
-
Contribute to
the development of mid-term plans within production, participate in
developing business operations and implement accordingly

Provide
strategic input to senior management’s decisions
Key Skills
and Qualifications:
-
Post
Secondary Degree or Diploma of Technology in Engineering,
Operations or Business and at least 5-7 years progressive
production experience in fast paced, new product introduction,
manufacturing environment, or, in lieu of education, an
equivalent combination of experience

Minimum
3-5 years management experience with proven ability to lead,
inspire, coach and engage high performing, multi-cultural
workforce

Demonstrated knowledge of lean principals and implementation of
tools
-
Strong
report writing skills
-
Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish
facts and draw valid conclusions
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

Knowledge
of wide-format printer systems a strong asset
